Choose by purpose: Soundproof curtains · Thermal curtains · Blackout curtains.
An acoustic curtain takes the echo out of a room: voices sound clearer, music cleaner, calls and recordings easier to understand. Our VB2GO acoustic curtains have a dense acoustic filling and, according to the lab certificate, reach αw 0.75 in one layer and αw 1.00 in two layers. At the same time they reduce noise from outside. Every curtain is made to measure in our own workshop.
Hard surfaces such as windows, tiles and bare walls reflect sound – the room echoes. An acoustic curtain absorbs a large part of these reflections. How much is shown by the weighted sound absorption coefficient αw: 1.00 is the highest value (class A). Our values come from measurements at Riverbank Acoustical Laboratories.
Each of our curtains does both: it absorbs echo in the room and reduces outside noise by 10 to 37 dB depending on the model. If street or neighbour noise is your main concern, you will find the right choice and fitting tips under soundproof curtains. For vocal booths and studio walls see our sound absorbing curtains.
Tip: hung in folds, even a single-layer curtain absorbs much more, especially low frequencies – see pleated hanging of an acoustic curtain.
How much echo does an acoustic curtain remove?
It depends on the area covered: the more hard surface – above all windows – the curtain covers, the more the echo drops.
Can it also darken the room and keep heat in?
Yes – see blackout curtains and thermal curtains.
How quickly is a curtain made?
Made to measure in 1–2 working days, then shipped.
