Thermal door curtains – keep the cold and draughts out

In winter a lot of heat escapes around front, back and patio doors – through gaps at the frame, under the door and through a thin door leaf. A heavy thermal curtain hung above the door creates a layer of still air in front of it and stops the draught. We offer a ready-made 100 × 235 cm door blanket and made-to-measure curtains for wider and double doors, sewn in our own workshop.

Ready-made door blanket or made-to-measure curtain?

  • DNC door blanket (black DNC-B, white DNC-W) – ready-made 100 × 235 cm for a standard door, double layer (2600 g/m²), 50–60% thermal insulation. Six 12 mm grommets: four along the top, two in the bottom corners.
  • Made-to-measure curtain – for wide or double doors, doors with a side window, or if you want to draw the curtain aside during the day.

How much heat each curtain keeps in

  • deNoise PRO 2850 – double layer with blackout fabric, 65–85% thermal insulation.
  • deNoise 2600 and SonicVoid 2600 – double layer, 50–60%.
  • deNoise PRO 1550 – single layer with blackout fabric, 35–45%.
  • deNoise 1300 and SonicVoid 1300 – single layer, 30–40%.

For a front door we recommend a double-layer curtain. All of them also reduce outside noise and block light.

How to hang a curtain over a door

  • Fit a sturdy pole or track above the door – double-layer curtains are heavy.
  • The pole should extend 15–20 cm beyond the frame on each side, and the curtain should reach the floor.
  • deNoise and deNoise PRO have 40 mm eyelets for poles up to 35 mm, or gathering tape. SonicVoid has 12 mm grommets with rings for poles up to 25 mm. The DNC door blanket hangs from its 12 mm grommets on hooks or a pole.

Warmth, quiet and darkness

The same curtains keep windows warm too – see our thermal curtains. If it is mainly noise coming through the door, see sound insulation for doors; for a fully dark room, our blackout curtains.

Is it useful in summer?
Yes – drawn, it keeps the heat out.

How quickly is it made?
Made-to-measure curtains take 1–2 working days to sew, then they are shipped.
