Ceiling Acoustic Blanket CBT-WBS (single layer) 60x120cm White/Black

This acoustic blanket was designed to cut reflections from the ceiling.
The sound blanket is 60 x 120 centimetres and has grommets all around it for easy attachment to a ceiling.
It is made out of our branded acoustic material which is used to make our acoustic blankets, popular with YouTubers around the world.
Weighted sound absorption coefficient: αw = 0.75 (absorbs over 85 % of sound from 500 Hz) - single layer

Single-layer version: the blanket consists of one layer of acoustic material. From 500 Hz upwards it absorbs over 85 % of the sound, i.e. the whole range of the human voice, and reliably shortens echo and reverberation from the ceiling. Weighted sound absorption coefficient αw = 0.75. It is an affordable choice for offices, classrooms and rooms where speech intelligibility matters most. If booming bass or the hum of equipment is also a problem, choose the double-layer CBT-WD with αw = 1.00.

Sound absorption

The CBT-WBS ceiling acoustic blanket is fixed to the ceiling and absorbs the sound that hits it instead of letting the ceiling reflect it back into the room. Echo and reverberation drop and speech becomes clearer, especially in rooms with a hard ceiling.

αw = 0.75. The blanket is made of the same material as our large acoustic blankets. Laboratory measurement of a single layer of this material in a reverberation room showed that from 500 Hz upwards it absorbs over 85 % of the sound, i.e. the whole range of the human voice. According to the European standard EN ISO 11654 this gives a weighted sound absorption coefficient of αw = 0.75.

How much it absorbs in the bass: 100 Hz 4 % · 125 Hz 13 % · 160 Hz 22 % · 200 Hz 30 % · 250 Hz 44 % · 315 Hz 58 % · 400 Hz 71 % · from 500 Hz over 85 %.

Mounting tip: in the measurement the material hung about 7.5 cm from the surface. For the same effect, fix the blanket a few centimetres away from the ceiling. Stretched tight against the ceiling it absorbs less in the bass.

The double-layer version CBT-WD with αw = 1.00 absorbs more, especially in the bass. The full laboratory report and the αw calculation are in the article CBT-WBS certificate.
