This soundproofing panel is very heavy and composed of several layers of material, including a layer of MLV (mass loaded vinyl), which makes the NovaSilence door curtain very effective at blocking noise.

The material's noise reduction is 22dB at low frequencies (125 – 250Hz), 30 dB at mid frequencies (630-800Hz), 45 dB at higher frequencies (2.5 – 5KHz), etc. Detailed information is available in the graph below.
Sound insulation for door is achieved using three metal hooks that are part of the soundproofing panel.
The panel not only has soundproofing properties, but also significantly improves acoustics (reverberation in the room) thanks to acoustic layer of 1300g per 1m2 which is directed inside the room and absorbs sound reflections.
The perfect soundproofing properties are ensured by MLV filling, 3mm thick and weighing 5200g per 1m2.
Custom manufacturing precisely tailored to the size of your doors and handle placement.

How to Choose the Correct Mounting?

To ensure your Nova Silence panel serves you perfectly and its installation is a matter of moments, it is crucial to choose the correct type of mounting. In the configurator above, you can select from several options designed specifically for your type of door.

In the paragraphs below, you will find a simple guide for each option, including photos, to be absolutely sure of your choice.

Option 1: For Rebated Doors (14–17 mm edge)

Sound_insulation_for_door_15_LOW

This option is designed for rebated doors. This is a type of door that has a characteristic "step" or "rabbet" around its perimeter, which allows it to fit into the door frame.
For proper function and hassle-free installation, it is crucial that the top edge of this rebate is between 14 and 17 mm wide. This dimension is the most common standard not only in the Czech Republic but also in many EU countries, with the most frequent width being 16 mm.
If you choose this option, your Nova Silence panel will be delivered with a pre-installed stainless steel hook designed precisely for this width. Installation is then incredibly simple – you just hang the panel over the top edge of the door. Everything is done cleanly, without drilling and without any tools.

Option 2: For Non-Rebated / Flush Doors (33–37 mm thick)

Sound_insulation_for_door_15_LOW

When you select this option, your Nova Silence panel will be fitted with a bracket intended exclusively for non-rebated doors (with smooth, flat edges) that are 33 to 37 mm thick. Before choosing, it is therefore crucial to measure the thickness of your door, as shown in the picture on the left, and ensure it falls within this range.

Our stainless steel bracket is 1.5 mm thick, so it is also necessary to verify that there is a gap of at least 2 mm between the top edge of the door and the frame. This will ensure the door can close freely after the panel is installed. Although this gap is common, measuring it is essential for proper function.

Option 3: For Non-Rebated / Flush Doors (37–41 mm thick)

Sound_insulation_for_door_15_LOW

When you select this option, your Nova Silence panel will be fitted with a bracket intended exclusively for non-rebated doors (with smooth, flat edges) that are 37 to 41 mm thick. Before choosing, it is therefore crucial to measure the thickness of your door, as shown in the picture on the left, and ensure it falls within this range.

Option 4: For Non-Rebated / Flush Doors (42–46 mm thick)

When you select this option, your Nova Silence panel will be fitted with a bracket intended exclusively for non-rebated doors (with smooth, flat edges) that are 42 to 46 mm thick. Before choosing, it is therefore crucial to measure the thickness of your door, as shown in the picture on the left, and ensure it falls within this range.

Option 5: Universal Mounting (10 cm Self-Adhesive Velcro)

Sound_insulation_for_door_15_LOW

This is our universal solution that is suitable for any door, regardless of its type or thickness. It is the ideal choice if you have a non-standard door or if you want to mount panels on both sides of the door (for extreme soundproofing).

You will receive the panel from us with one part of the Velcro (a 10 cm wide strip) already firmly sewn on. You simply stick the other, self-adhesive part (the counterpart) to the door. For maximum bond strength, the door surface must be cleaned and degreased before application.

The resulting bond is very strong and ensures the panel remains reliably and securely attached for the long term, while still retaining the main advantage of Velcro.

Individual layers:

Sound_insulation_for_door_1Sound insulation for door incorporates various types of fillings to maximize its soundproofing and acoustic capabilities. The MLV layer is responsible for its soundproofing effect, being the most effective material for soundproofing, while our VB2GO deNoise material takes care of the acoustic properties, also used in VB2GO acoustic curtains. Thanks to this material, the door soundproofing panel also has excellent acoustic properties, reducing reverberation in the room. This means not only increased quietness in the room, but also less sound reflection, making activities like staying in the room, having conversations, playing music, recording, etc., much more enjoyable.

Precise custom manufacturing:

Sound_insulation_for_door_17Each door soundproofing panel is custom-made, simply select your door dimensions and handle placement in the configurator above, and within two working days, we'll manufacture and dispatch the panel to you.

Handle Hole:

Sound_insulation_for_door_13Each NovaSilence panel already includes a handle hole according to your specifications, ensuring a snug fit to your doors and maximizing soundproofing effectiveness while preserving comfortable door opening.

P.S. Need an additional hole (e.g., for a lock)? See the guide in the product description below for instructions on how to measure and specify the correct placement for your order.

Usage:

Sound_insulation_for_door_18NovaSilence sound insulation for door finds applications in various areas within your household, such as soundproofing the bedroom for extended sleep when others are awake, or soundproofing hallways in apartment buildings, or even soundproofing the living room for prolonged TV viewing. It also has utility in office buildings, reducing hallway noise entering your office, or if you have a clinic, enhancing privacy for you and your patients. All of this and more is offered by NovaSilence door soundproofing panels, thanks to their highest efficiency in the market, availability, and low cost.

High-level soundproofing:

door_noise_sound_insulation_NovaSilence_noise_loss_1_lowNovaSilence sound insulation for door offer the highest level of soundproofing in the market at the lowest price, confirmed by laboratory data measured at Riverbank acoustical laboratories, as shown in the graph below. The material's sound reduction (red line) is 22dB at low frequencies (125 – 250Hz), 30 dB at mid frequencies (630-800Hz), 45 dB at higher frequencies (2.5 – 5KHz), etc. Detailed information is available in the image or in this article.

Measuring Door Dimensions:

Sound_insulation_for_door_33

To ensure that the door soundproofing is custom-made to fit precisely, it is necessary that you accurately measure your door and enter the measured values into the configurator above. We need to know the exact width of the door (B) and the height of the door (A).

We will then subtract 1 cm from the bottom to prevent the panel from dragging on the floor. Therefore, the soundproofing panel will be made according to the dimensions you provide minus 1 cm from the height of the panel. (We reserve the right to produce the panel with a size tolerance of +/- 1 cm). Please note that the soundproofing panel on the bottom of the door will end slightly higher than your door to ensure that the panel does not scrape the floor. We aim to have the soundproofing panel hang approximately 0.5 to 1 cm above the bottom of your door to avoid it dragging on the ground.

Handle hole measurement:

Sound_insulation_for_door_16_cutTo accurately position the hole for your handle, you need to place two measurements into the configurator above. Measure the distance from the bottom edge of the door (C) to the exact center of your handle and also measure the second dimension from the edge of the door to the exact center of your handle (D). It's better to refer to the images or video where we instruct on how to measure these dimensions precisely.

Lock Hole Measurement:

Sound_insulation_for_door_33

If you would also like to add a lock hole to the soundproofing panel, please enter the following measurement into the configurator above: the distance from the exact center of your door handle to the exact center of the keyhole (E). Please measure this dimension as recommended in the image in this section.

Proper Installation for Maximum Effectiveness

The package includes 6 meters of Velcro (hooks + loops) with a self-adhesive backing, 20 mm wide. For optimal sound insulation performance, it is advisable to apply the velcro around the edges of the door, approximately 0.5–1 cm from the outer edge. Proper installation of the velcro ensures a secure and tight fit of the Nova Silence panel, significantly enhancing its ability to block noise passing through the door. Inadequate sealing along the edges may reduce the effectiveness of the sound insulation.
